Wittgenstein on Scepticism

This course will look at Wittgenstein’s philosophy in its relation to the sceptical challenge. We will concentrate on the three central texts: the Tractatus, Philosophical Investigations, and On Certainty. A guiding theme of the course will be the view that Wittgenstein’s philosophy, including the private language argument, is concerned with averting the threat of radical scepticism.
