Franz Kafka and the Perspective of Minority

This course is aimed at the philosophical reflection of Kafka’s work. In this respect, Deleuze’s and Guattari’s book Kafka. Pour une littérature mineure shall serve us as a point of departure. Here we find the concept of minority which is further elaborated in Mille plateaux. Yet, we shall not simply follow Deleuze’s and Guattari’s interpretation of Kafka’s work; rather, we should attempt to find new perspectives in Kafka’s literary inquiries into the processes of decontextualization and recontextualization. This will require a close reading of Das Schloss, Amerika (Der Verschollene) and other works.
